"I have been receiving Chiropractic/Acupuncture care since May 2004 from Dr. Brost.  I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis, which affects my feet, hips, knees and hands.  I have deformities in my feet and hands.  I have been on several arthritic medicines that always upset my stomach.  The final ones I took were Predisone and Methotrexate.  I also have congestive heart failure, Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease, have had one TIA and have Psoriasis.
    Last May I was unable to walk to the end of our driveway (approximately 90 feet) without resting at least twice.  I did not drive myself to Drs. appointments if I would have to park too far away from the office.  I was regularly taking 3 Tylenol Extra Strength 3 times or more per day.  I also took Vicodin for a short time.  I gained 80 pounds - I was unable to exercise.  
I tried everything, had been to several Drs. Of all specialties.  I have received physical therapy for a couple of years a least.  I did make improvement and was going 3x per week.  I had hoped to make more improvement than I was.  I was not feeling that much better.  I had decided this was the best I could be.  I did not think to seek out acupuncture.  I knew very little about it.
    I was then referred to Dr. Brost by my son who, in turn, was referred to her by a business acquaintance.  Both had severe Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Both had seen dramatic results.  Our son had not been able to make a fist when he started.  He now has almost full use of his hands.  I was optimistic when I went as I had been able to see the results my son experienced.
    After 1 year with Dr. Brost receiving a combination of chiropractic and acupuncture these are the results I have achieved:
    I have greatly gained flexibility in my hands and feet, which had been stiff most of the time.  Now I walk approximately ½-1mile several times a week.  I am able to go more places by myself.  I have been able to begin doing lawn work which I had not before.  I have lost 30 pounds in the last 6 months.  I have not taken any pain medication with the exception of Tylenol, as needed which usually does not exceed 3 per day.  I am not taking Prednisone at all or Methtrexate on a regular basis.  I take Methtrexate two tablets once a week.  My psoriasis is 90% improved.  It is completely gone, with the exception of some small controllable flare-up once in a while.
    I can honestly say I have felt better in the past few months than I have in the past 6 years.  I would be the first one to Highly recommend my friends and family to Acupuncture/Chiropractic care."

"In October of 1999 I walked into The Brost Clinic in so much pain I wanted to die.  I was experiencing shooting pain in my leg and hip, so much so that it hurt to walk.  I was having headaches that lasted for days on end, nausea, back pain, neck pain and I hardly slept a wink.  I was a train wreck at 25, and Barbro Brost was the angel I had prayed for.
    I had been to my internist for all of my ailments, only to receive little help and less hope.  I was depressed and angry.  I could barely make it through my workday and would come home and crash hard on the couch or in my bed.  I had to force myself through every activity everyday.  I had an amazing game face, but the reality was that my health resembled that of a 90 year old.  For years my family doctor told me that I had Fibromyalgia (FM), but that there was little I could do for it.
    It wasn’t until a rainy day in October that a coworker told me I looked like hell and that I should try her chiropractor, Dr. Barbro Brost.  Dr. Barbro was my last ray of hope; I was scared to death – but as always was willing to try one more thing.  Dr. Barbro found that I had degeneration in my spin/neck and leg/hip alignment issues.  The problems in my neck/spine were most likely the underlying cause of my FM.  The good news was that there would be recovery for me, but it wouldn’t be easy or immediate.
    I started out going three days per week, barely making it between adjustments.  I took EVERY supplement she suggested and told her every embarrassing pain/issue I had.  She validated my feelings and listened and worked to find solutions.  I followed the detoxification regime, bought a new mattress, signed up at the health club, went to the massage therapist and made many gradual changes in my diet.  If she was going to work this hard, I was going to work twice as hard.  She has even battled the health insurance company with me!
    Today is January 3, 2001.  I went in for my now weekly adjustment with a bright smile on my face.  As of today I weigh 20 pounds less, I am a little sore from a highly active vacation week of skiing and snowshoeing.  I was at the club at 6am this morning for a ten-mile ride, one mile walk and stretching.  I usually lift weights… but I thought it was best to take it easy after my active week!  HOW ABOUT THAT!  My life now resembles that of a 27 year old!  I am crying as I write this because I am so happy that I have my life back!  Now, my game face is my real face!
    I still have to be careful.  I have good days and bad days, but the good days far outweigh the bad days.  I sleep well most nights and no longer feel depressed.  My family, friends and coworkers can’t believe the change!  I am a new wonderful person that is fun to be with and who LAUGHS ALL THE TIME!  My new diet and exercise habits are solid and continually improving.  My professional life has taken off like a rocket ship, as I am now able to concentrate, work hard, work a full day – and I love it!
    I would like to extend a gracious thank you to Dr. Barbro and her staff.  They are always so happy to see me, showing endless compassion and understanding!  I would also like to thank my family and friends.  They have been so supportive and helpful!  I have appreciated every little hug and back rub! I was not always a nice person through this, but you loved and cared for me even when it was hard to understand what I was experiencing.
